Do you remember childhood games? Like real ones that aren’t electronic? Yeah, those ones! LOL! We do in our home and I wanted to make sure our kids grew up playing them including cards, dominos, marbles, Tic-Tac-Toe and other silly classics.
There’s no doubt that the older games are pretty popular at our home, but Tic-Tac-Toe has become a family staple at our house. Our kids play it just about every everyday! No joke. In restaurants, car rides, really anywhere we may be waiting and of course at home too. There is something about it’s simplicity that just draws them in. They can’t resist it.
That’s why I couldn’t resist making our own DIY Tic-Tac-Toe game for home. It has been so much fun with the kiddos. Check it out!
DIY Tic-Tac-Toe Game!
1 wood log slice(picked up at Target)
white acrylic paint (black acrylic paint optional)
1 small paint bush
10 stones or rocks preferably 2 different color of 5 each (picked up at Hobby Lobby)
rhinestones(about 10-12 small)
hot glue gun or tacky glue
Firstly, I took the wood log slice and decided the best way for the game lines to lay on the board. I then painted on two parallel lines turned the board and added two more that crossed over each other to make the Tic-Tac-Toe board.
I couldn’t resist adding an XOXO with black acrylic paint. Then I let the wood log slice dry.
Next I needed game pieces, so I found the perfect white and dark gray stones.
They still needed a little something more, so on one white stone I added an O in dark gray rhinestones and on one dark gray stone I added a X in white rhinestones. The rhinestones were hot glued on and gave them just a little bling.
Here’s the final DIY Tic-Tac-Toe Game for family game nights!
