Do you remember childhood games? Like real ones that aren’t electronic? Yeah, those ones! LOL! We do in our home and I wanted to make sure our kids grew up playing them including cards, dominos, marbles, Tic-Tac-Toe and other silly classics.
There’s no doubt that the older games are pretty popular at our home, but Tic-Tac-Toe has become a family staple at our house. Our kids play it just about every everyday! No joke. In restaurants, car rides, really anywhere we may be waiting and of course at home too. There is something about it’s simplicity that just draws them in. They can’t resist it.
That’s why I couldn’t resist making our own DIY Tic-Tac-Toe game for home. It has been so much fun with the kiddos. Check it out!
DIY Tic-Tac-Toe Game!
1 wood log slice(picked up at Target)
white acrylic paint (black acrylic paint optional)
1 small paint bush
10 stones or rocks preferably 2 different color of 5 each (picked up at Hobby Lobby)
rhinestones(about 10-12 small)
hot glue gun or tacky glue
Firstly, I took the wood log slice and decided the best way for the game lines to lay on the board. I then painted on two parallel lines turned the board and added two more that crossed over each other to make the Tic-Tac-Toe board.
I couldn’t resist adding an XOXO with black acrylic paint. Then I let the wood log slice dry.
Next I needed game pieces, so I found the perfect white and dark gray stones.
They still needed a little something more, so on one white stone I added an O in dark gray rhinestones and on one dark gray stone I added a X in white rhinestones. The rhinestones were hot glued on and gave them just a little bling.
Here’s the final DIY Tic-Tac-Toe Game for family game nights!

Snow! Yes, Please!
What better way to spend this snowy day then all nice and warm and cozy in front of the fire. I’m just loving watching the snow fall as I’m just blogging away(mostly behind the scenes blog- housekeeping).
I guess I’m still in the Honeymoon phase with the snow it’s just so beautiful. #Dream Life!
I wanted to share with you all that I’m currently taking a free course via facebook from the Elite Blogging Academy called Build Your Blog Bootcamp. I am just so grateful to be a part of it. There’s so much great information and the group of people are just amazing. If your interested in blogging you should definitely check it out and did I mention it’s FREE!
Anyways, it’s got me pondering a way at my current blog dreams and how much I truly want to be able to help individuals find their everyday bliss so I thought I’d share mine for the day. It’s this beautiful SNOW!
I haven’t really discussed it yet on the blog, but my husband and I packed up our family of six(and of course our german shepard Ace) and moved to the mountains. Now, as I’m sure you can all tell, I’m no where near a mountain girl!
I grew up in the city, so this is a whole new world for me, definitely out of my comfort zone, but an amazing adventure.
We had a lot of reasons on our list for why we were moving, but it all really came down to us wanting our children to grow up in a small community living life and not just keeping up with the chaos of the city.
We are trying to find our bliss here in the mountains and I look forward to sharing it all with you.
For now I’m just enjoying the bliss of this snowy day. How are you finding your bliss today?
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Ready for the snow!

Beautiful ride home!
What a great day! We had so much fun in the snow with the kids and Ace (our German Shepard). I was worried on the way up, because it started to snow. However, it made the trip so magical. The kids were just in awe (Me too as the sun peeked out here and there). I truly Cherish these types of days. Life goes by so fast and it’s amazing to slow down for a little bit and just enjoy.
We started the day off with Starbuck’s and donuts. Yummm! (not a typical breakfast for us as I’ve become pretty spastic about organic and preservative free foods, but fun for the day) Then set out to the snow.
The drive up was gorgeous. The kids were super excited because it was snowing. They ran right out to start a snow ball fight. (Typical for my kids lol) They did pause for a few pics for me, but not for long.
We had a snack back at the truck (beef jerky, Annies organic fruit snacks, whole wheat goldfish and water). Then we headed back towards home.
Short and sweet, but awesome Day. The kids talked us into IN and OUT on the way home:) So no cooking Dinner tonight for me. Now all I have to do is clean up all the snow gear lol.
Hope everyone had a great Saturday!
XOXO- Karen Renee
You know that feeling? Your ready to walk out the door, hands are full, but there are no car keys anywhere to be found? I am far to familiar with that with that option. With our busy lives as a family of six, we have to stay as organized as possible. This key storage is a must for our sanity.
We have quite a few vehicles and have to swap them out frequently related to task and who all is in the car. Plus our families often help with our children’s extra activities and drive our vehicles as well.
That being said ……..Yes, we have a lot of keys lol!
I was over the never ending key hunt and determined to find a solution. Time was wasted as I looked through the typical key storage options, but there was a lack of hooks and space for our large amount of keys. I couldn’t just order one that I knew wouldn’t really work. That’s why I had been on the look out for the perfect key hook storage solution!
Good news, I found it!
See, when out and about earlier this week, I picked up this great little hook set at Marshall’s along with these three separate large decor keys.
It always seems to be that I find whatever it is when I’m not specifically looking for it. I was there for something else entirely(yoga pants) and poof there was my key solution. Yoga pants, key hooks same thing right ?!? LOL
The price was perfect too!
$2.99 per key x 3= $8.97
$5.99 for adorable farmhouse hooks already mounted on a white washed board
Total cost = $14.96 + tax
I’m in love with the way it turned out! Simple and chic. Perfect key storage solution. What do you think?
What do you do with your keys sweet friend? Have a great key storage idea? Share it with us in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
